Call for help gathering signatures

While having great success in gathering signatures to get Initiative 1798 on the ballot, many challenges remain. July 2, 2021 deadline is approaching rapidly and getting enough signatures during COVID-19 will be a significant challenge.
I encourage everyone to not only sign the initiative, but contact your legislators. Write and explain to them the importance of ensuring child abuse is reported to Child Protective Services. Insist that Washington state legislators pass what Initiative 1798 will require; that judges report to law enforcement or the appropriate state agency if, while presiding over a legal proceeding, they witness or receive credible information alleging child abuse or neglect.
Having to pass a people's initiative to do this is frankly ridiculous. Our legislators who have been made well aware of this legal loophole should be embarrassed that they allow this conduct to occur.
